Meet Your Optometrist
Dr. Jennifer Capstick was born in central New Jersey and even though she has lived in Connecticut since 2017 she still considers herself a Jersey girl – but don’t hold that against her. She graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey Summa Cum Laude majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

Dr. Capstick then went on to study optometry at SUNY College of Optometry receiving the “Pace Setter” award for Excellence in Primary Care. During optometry school, Dr Capstick developed a love for medical optometry and ocular disease. After graduating, she chose to complete a residency in ocular disease focusing on diagnosis and management of Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Retina disorders through Salus University at OMNI Eye Services.

Over the last 10 years she has continued to work with ophthalmologists to manage ocular disease, but has also enjoyed expanding her knowledge in contact lenses.
Dr. Capstick currently fits soft contact lenses to improve distance and near vision including multifocal and astigmatism options. She also fits medically necessary hard contact lenses and scleral contact lenses for patients with corneal diseases such as Keratoconus.

In addition to serving populations with advanced ocular disease, she also does pediatric examinations with an emphasis on myopia management including orthokeratology. Dr. Capstick is board-certified through the American Board of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Prior to realizing her passion for science and healthcare, Dr. Capstick actually went to culinary school at Johnson & Wales University. In her free time, she loves cooking for her husband and two boys.
